The Betchiest Book Review Ever

Brought to you by the masterminds behind one of our favorite sites BetchesLoveThis.com, comes a New York Times Bestseller, Nice is Just a Place in France: How to Win at Basically Everything. Depending on how seriously you take this book it can be either extremely hysterical or extremely offensive, but much like Kimye on the cover of Vogue, we just couldn’t take it too seriously.

The book takes you through all the important points of life — partying, dating, friends/enemies and of course, how to get everything you want in life without actually doing anything. Honestly, their guide to getting others to do your work for you throughout college would have come in really handy (ah, the downfalls of being born in the ’80s). If Regina George were a real person, we’d have thought she wrote this herself. But The Betches themselves describe it best: “If you could combine the hotness of Kate Moss with the wit of Chelsea Handler, and the fuck-off vibe of Anna Wintour, you would have yourself the ultimate betch.”

If you have no aversion to smack-talking about nicegirls, ugly people, poor people, or fat people…then one, you’re obviously a betch, and two, you will love this book. If you do have an aversion to these things, then you’re obviously a nicegirl (yes, it’s one word) and shouldn’t be reading this. But in all honesty, this isn’t a real self-help book and is not meant to be taken seriously, kind of like life! After all, “life isn’t about arriving at your destination, it’s about how many shots you take on the plane.” A lot of people who have issue with the book probably haven’t read it all the way through – ironically, the final chapter entitled Conclusion: You Can Skip This Part, goes over how no one should actually take their advice, it won’t make you happy, and it will probably make people hate you. So do yourself a favor — read the book, and just as you would a tequila shot, take it with a grain of salt.
