Walking through the doors at the Redeemer Presbyterian Concert Hall, people are transported to Rhymeington USA, where the Dream Café & Spa is ready inspire all its visitors. The Dream Café, a self-help musical comedy written and directed by Katie O’Regan, is a show for the entire family.

As the melodies echo throughout the theatre, the audience enjoys a mix of soulful bluesy music that leaves insightful views on both the material world and spiritual world. The musical addresses the issues of religion and personal conflict in a humorous way that leaves the audience feeling refreshed.

Throughout the musical, the audience is introduced to a hypnotist, a heart broken workaholic, and former wild child that paves the way to discover the legend of Rhymeington. Marcello, a healer and teacher from New York, spreads his special vision and healing touch to all residents and visitors. Working alongside Marcello in Rhymeington is Sydney Chearney, the vibrant hairdresser that brings zest to the broken souls, including Mara Rosenfield. A workaholic from New York, Mara is on her way to discover the legend of Rhymeington. Leo Carpenter, the former wild child, resides in Rhymeington to find peace and serenity. Charlotte B. Chearney, a corporate executive and local guru, attempts to mend her professional life, as well as her spiritual life. Other supporting characters include the comical muse Pink, the Reiki healer Joy, the café barista Arthur and the New York pianist Herbert.

The powerful voices of the ensemble will rock the walls of the theatre, and people should not be surprised if they find themselves wanting to sing a long. Tickets for the one-night show are available online.

The one night showing of The Dream Café is on Saturday, April 12th at 7:30 p.m. at the Redeemer Presbyterian Concert Hall, located at 150 West 83rd Street.
