If you’re like myself and countless other nightlife fanatics, you’re probably looking for a new hotspot to go to every weekend. But sometimes going through countless mixed Yelp reviews can be a bit of a pain and frankly, leads nowhere. Now with Dyce, you’ll have your plans rolled out (ha) for you. The new app, which was recently named Gizmodo’s Android app of the week, provides six of the best bars and/or restaurants closest to you.

If that’s not enough, it even provides directions, tips and ratings. I decided to try the app for myself and the first thing I noticed was that you were forced into logging in through Facebook. While as an avid FB user, I didn’t mind, but for those of us who have logged out, you might have a bit of trouble. When first logging in I was asked if I wanted a bar or restaurant — simple enough — and low and behold, six restaurants all within a mile’s reach. Additionally if you don’t mind a commute, you can choose for anything up 1 ½, 2, or even 5 miles away. With those six choices all I did was press ‘roll now’ and a restaurant was picked for me, displaying opening times, a website, a phone number, directions AND tips. In total, I’d rate this app 4 out of 5 stars, simply for the forced Facebook login. There were no glitches, it was very easy to use and in the end, it got my friends and I where we needed to go. Go ahead and take a roll of the dyce.
