Cheers to the opening of Tullamore D.E.W.’s new distillery in September! Tullamore D.E.W., the fabulous Irish whiskey, was founded in 1829 by Daniel E. Williams in the town of Tullamore in Ireland. Tullamore D.E.W. is distilled by William Grant & Sons, Ltd., an independent family-owned distiller that is located in the United Kingdom and was founded by William Grant in 1887. The new distillery opening in September will bring Tullamore D.E.W. back to its roots and this is definitely a cause for celebration.

To celebrate the opening of the new distillery, Tullamore is holding a “Parting Glass” campaign. A Parting Glass is a way to honor the beginning of a new chapter and in Tullamore D.E.W.’s case, the opening of a new distillery in the 185 year history of the brand is a very special occasion indeed. To enter the campaign you must share a video or a picture of your parting moment with Tullamore D.E.W. on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter and you must add the hashtag #PartingGlassUS. Submissions are accepted until August 6th, 2014 and you can also visit TullamoreDew.com to personalize and share your submissions with friends. The grand prize is a trip to Ireland to attend the distillery opening celebrations in September.

This campaign was inspired by the short film ‘A Parting Glass,’ which premiered in 2013 and was shot in the Irish countryside. Created by New York agency Opperman Weiss and directed by Laurence Dunmore, the film follows a group of guys preparing for their friend’s wedding and having their own parting glass moment.

If you have not tried Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey then I suggest you do so soon because with the accolades that it has, it stands to reason that it’s really good whiskey. It is the second largest Irish whiskey in the world and it also won the Chairman’s Trophy at the 2013 Ultimate Spirits Competition. What makes it so distinct is that it blends all three types of Irish whiskeys; the pot still, the malt, and grain whiskeys. That in itself is enough to win me over!

Remember you only have until August 6th, 2014 so make sure to get those pictures and videos up!
