As the baseball season comes to an end, it is time for one of New York’s most beloved athletes to officially hangup their pinstripes. Derek Jeter has become the face of the New York Yankees, and in honor of his retirement, Steiner Sports is offering an intimate afternoon with the famous shortstop.

Just days before his last home game, Jeter will partake in an exclusive luncheon and Q&A at The Hudson Theatre in the Millennium Hotel on September 22nd. The question-and-answer portion is hosted by Brandon Steiner and will reflect on Jeter’s career and time as a Yankee.

The Captain’s Farewell: Derek Jeter Live is presented by Steiner Sports and tickets start at $149, but VIP packages are available. For die-hard Jeter fans The Clutch Package is the ultimate way to pay tribute the baseball icon. For $2,500, people will receive two tickets to the luncheon and Q&A, a photo with Derek Jeter, a limited edition autographed item and more. There are other options available, including The Balcony, The Mezzanine and The Clutch without the package.

If people are not able to attend the event, there is still a chance to own a piece of baseball history. Steiner Sports is holding aDerek Jeter Farewell Auction,” which includes a plethora of iconic Yankee memorabilia. For nearly 25 years Steiner Sports has been the preeminent place to purchase authentic hand-signed memorabilia, and within this auction there are signed baseballs, photographs and even the visitor’s dugout phone that was used during the 2013 season.

One of the highlights of the auction includes over 30 game worn jerseys from Yankee players and coaches that were worn on Lou Gehrig Day. Some of the exclusive jerseys come from Jeter, Masahiro Tanaka and Dellin Betances. In honor of the “Ice Bucket Challenge” and former Yankee superstar Lou Gehrig, all the proceeds raised from the jerseys will be donated to the ASL Association. Bidding is open until October 7th.
