Restaurants in New York City come and go with more frequency than a Kim Kardashian selfie. So when a restaurant celebrates its three year anniversary, it’s a pretty big deal. Last week, Asellina Ristorante, a fabulous and sophisticated Italian restaurant located at Gansevoort Park in Midtown East, went all out in celebration of its three year anniversary.

The restaurant was recently revamped with a new and shining interior and also welcomed a new chef, Andrea Montobbio, into its midst. The trendy rustic Italian spot is known for its pastas and pizzas and served plenty of both to hungry diners. We especially liked the Saffron Strozzapreti pasta, made with shrimp, zucchini and brandy. In addition to their new chef, Asellina also added new menu items that accommodate those who are gluten free.

During the party, guests also enjoyed specialty Absolut cocktails and Perrier Jouet, as well as hors d’oeuvres such as bruschetta and boscaiola. Even some famous faces made it out to celebrate, included David Spade, Stephen Baldwin, Selita Ebanks and Vincent Piazza. While some guests sat down for dinner, others just enjoyed the drinks and passed hors d’oeuvres, dancing the night away to the fun and festive live music by The Jane Doze. All in all, it was a successful evening that kicked off the new beginning of Asellina.
