Buddhas in the Garden

Last week, artist Hedy Klineman debuted Buddhas in the Garden, a well-received solo exhibition displaying more than 50 of her pantings. The exhibit launched at Tibet House US with over 200 guests in attendance, including Sharon Bush, Maggie Norris, Unik Ernest, Madame Mayhem, Michael Musto and more. The colorful exhibit will be on display until December 12, 2013. Fifty percent of the proceeds from the sales of her work will benefit Tibet House US.

The exhibit features both acrylic paintings and silkscreens on canvas and paper, and quite expectantly, features buddhas in garden surroundings. Many of her works are in the pop art style, featuring repetition of the same scene in different colors. The backdrops of her work include gorgeous landscapes of Barbados, gardens in East Hampton, and even her own rooftop in Manhattan. The art definitely shows the beauty of nature and evokes a certain spirituality onto the viewer, making them feel calm and meditative. We loved the bright, striking colors Klineman used in her work, and the variety of mediums she used to create them. If you have the opportunity to stop in and see this exhibit, we would highly suggest it.
