Building Change with Jessica Stam

Before walking the runway in this season’s hottest fashion shows, some models supported their friend and fellow Victoria’s Secret model Jessica Stam at the Building Blocks for Change Winter Ball. The night was filled with drinks, high fashion and more, and party goers enjoyed the ball as the music echoed throughout the iconic Angel Oresanz Foundation in the Lower East Side.

Attendees had the opportunity to bid on exclusive items during the silent auctions. From passes to fashion week to a pair of Christian Louboutins, dozens of items were auctioned off to raise funds to support the mission of Building Blocks for Change. With the help of many generous donors, there was enough money raised to construct the first health clinic in Kiberia, located in Nairobi.

Since its establishment in 2012, Building Blocks for Change has become a sustainable construction arm for international aid. With the belief that inadequate infrastructure is one of the most binding constraints on development and growth of all kinds. By developing and maintaining essential infrastructure we can effectively lay down the building blocks and foundations for growth to reduce poverty and enhance standards of living.

“I want to thank everyone that came here tonight to support a wonderful cause that is close to my heart,” Stam said in her speech to those who attended. Some of the attendees included actresses Jessica Szohr and Jessica Richards, artist Jeremy Penn, upcoming model and the new face of Estée Lauder Arizona Muse.
