Fall to Winter Staples

When seasons change your wardrobe must change along with it. With such limited apartment space in the city, these transitions can be difficult, which is why the best things you can buy will be able to take you from season to season. We styled this Fall look, which can easily carry you into winter — all you need to do is add a jacket! But let’s break it down for you even further and tell you about some of our favorite brands that helped us out:

Mint Julep Boutique: This online shop is one of the fastest growing women’s retailers in the country and one look at the items on their site and you can see why. Ranging from skirts and dresses to coats and boots, The Mint Julep Boutique has an endless array of styles to choose from. We love the Detail Me What You Know Sweater ($40), pictured here, not only because it looks great on, but also because it’s cozy and breathable. In warmer months just throw a tank on underneath it and you’re all set; in colder months you can layer up with a long sleeve shirt underneath for added warmth. Additionally, it’s longer in the back so would look great with leggings. Now for the best part: we’ve teamed up with The Mint Julep Boutique to award one of our readers with $25 gift card to the store, so you too can transition easily from fall to winter!

RocksBox: You’ve likely heard of the monthly subscription box service that allows us regular folk to score designer jewelry at an affordable price. What’s so cool about RocksBox is that you are sent three unique pieces each month, tailored to your personal style, and you can send them back to receive new jewelry as much as you want or if you fall in love you can purchase it. We tried out two beautiful necklaces and an earring set this month, all of which rocked black and gold details. As you can see, we couldn’t get enough. And now’s your chance to try it all out risk free. Use the code ‘manhattantwistxoxo’ at checkout and try RocksBox FREE for an entire month!

Inked by Dani: All New Yorkers need a bit of edge and with Inked by Dani temporary tattoos, it’s easier than ever to achieve. The company creates 90s-inspired tats, giving a new twist to the old trend of tattoos. As picture above, we rocked a simple flower tat, but there’s a wide range of images to choose from, ranging from the tailgating time spirit-themed to foodie-centric, and even limited edition snowflakes just in time for winter. It’s fun rocking something new and you can switch it up every day with these fun tattoos. Check out our Instagram @ManhattanTwist to see some of the other Inked by Dani tattoos we dig.

Cat Footwear: If you are an avid Manhattan with a Twist follower, you’ve probably read about Cat Footwear before. And who can blame us? This footwear company makes great quality boots that are not only sturdy and functional, but fashionable, as well. Plus, they hold up extremely well – the pair seen here is over a year old (similar here)!

And I totally don’t blame you if you’re digging the black fringe backpack (how cute is it??). Caren Forbes, a small store in my hometown, sells adorable clothing and accessories, but unfortunately they don’t have an online store. However, if you happen to find yourself in the suburbs of Connecticut, be sure to look them up and stop by!
