Get Your Indian on at Benares

by

Trying to find a great Indian Restaurant in NYC? Look no further than Benares Midtown! With traditional dishes such as Lamb Saagwala, Goat, and delicious selections of Nann, everyone will find something on the menu they love. Besides the wonderful selection of meat, vegetarian, and seafood dishes, Benares also has a food friendly wine list and very interesting cocktails!

What’s interesting about this restaurant in particular is the delectable seafood appetizers and entrees offered. The Tawa scallop appetizer is full of flavor and the scallops are cooked perfectly. The classic Samosa was plated beautifully and packed with spice and potatoes; yum!

Their selection of entrees was a difficult choice because you can go traditional, or traditional with a little flare. What do we mean by that? Well, the Tharavu Curry, which is a delicious duck dish simmered in onions, garlic, coconut sauce, chili, and spices, is different than the traditional Chicken Tikka and Vindaloo dishes known and adored by many Indian cuisine lovers. Also ordered was one traditional dish of Lamb Biryani, which was spicy, packed with flavor, and certainly one to order upon your visit!

If there is enough room for dessert, you must try the Gulab Jamun, which is simple, yet incredible! Honey Dumplings in a delicious syrup topped with sliced almonds. Benares has a location in Midtown and in Tribeca, so this is a must check out restaurant!
