It’s the most wonderful time of the year! (And we aren’t talking about Christmas.) That’s right, Halloween is next week and that means there’s plenty of fun parties and activities to get you in the spirit.

The McKittrick Hotel, home of Sleep No More, is throwing A Hitchcock Halloween Party. With parties on three different days, there’s no way you should miss this fun soiree inspired by Hollywood’s king of horror. Friday, October 25th, Saturday, October 26th and Thursday, October 31st are the dates to mark your calendars, when late night dance parties will take your breath away. Live performances, scenic installations, surprise guests and an open bar are just some of the enticing things you can expect. You can also opt in for dinner in The Club Car prior to the party. Call your friends! The High Line Hotel is making pumpkin carving chic on Wednesdays and Saturdays in October. Hosted I the hotel’s front garden, you can enjoy pumpkin carving while you sip from a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label NV. Master carver-in-residence, Brent Heuser, will design you the pumpkin of your dreams. Plus, if you have a pup you can bring him or her along for some doggie beer and a pumpkin pet portrait. The sessions are each 45-minutes and can be booked online or by shooting an e-mail to pumpkins@thehighlinehotel.com.

Hit up the popular Lower East Side rooftop bar Mr. Purple for their weeklong Temple of Terror. From Thursday, October 24th through the 31st, the bar will serve speciality cocktails and will also feature a DJ Thursday-Saturday, and Halloween night. Costumes are encouraged!

Go outside your comfort zone with an otherworldly experience hosted by mentalist Jason Suran. Located within the historic Norwood Club, Suran hosts a psychological séance, taking a small group of participants through the history of the Club, spiritualism, magic and more. The Other Side is an entertaining, somewhat baffling and highly enjoyable evening full of stories, friends and fantasy. Start your evening with a cocktail, and end it with a séance in the pitch dark. Someone might cry, someone might jump, and everyone will leave wanting to know exactly how Suran does what he does.

People Under the Stairs is the theme on Saturday, October 26th at Alley Cat Amateur Theatre. Located at The Beekman, this bar is hosting an 80s and 90s-themed horror film-themed night alongside some of our favorite movie villains. Think: Freddie Krueger, Jason Voorhees and Charles Lee Ray. The event begins at 7pm with 80s cover band The Paper Planes and will switch over to late night DJs Matty San and Petroleux. New Yorkers can celebrate Day of the Dead at Dos Caminos October 31st, through the weekend, where all locations with have a fun DJ on hand, along with specialty cocktails by Don Julio Blanco, boozy Fall guacamole, and a brand new Fall menu created by Chef Ariel Fox, Hell’s Kitchen Season 18 Champion.

‘Twas the night before Halloween and Taco Electrico is the place to be. Wednesday, October 30th, you can partake an a Halloween-themed drag bingo party hosted by Linda Loves Bingo! at 7pm. Dress in your best costumes for the chance to win a prize and order up their specialty Spooky Glitter Lips cocktail for $10.

More treat than trick, this new life-sized candy installation located at Showfields includes artwork by by robynblair, whose candy-filled prints will bring a smile to your face. The art installation is on display through November 13th, and best of all, you can shop after snapping some pics!

Located within The Pierre Hotel, Two E Bar & Lounge will be hosting a full day of festivities on Halloween. From 2-6pm you can enjoy afternoon tea with twist, featuring holiday-themed savory and sweet snacks, face painting for the children, as well as a photo booth. You can indulge in sweets such as gummy worms, cotton candy, dirt desserts and specialty cocktails. Tickets can be purchased here. Late night revelers can attend the bar’s Halloween party and costume contest from 9pm-12am. Come dressed to impress because amazing prizes for best costumes will be awarded to the top 3!
