Did you know the French saved jazz music? We learned that they did at Le Jazz Hot at the 59E59 Theaters! This uniquely educational jazz show takes you on a journey back in time when jazz music was beloved by the French and how they kept it alive. In France, jazz was a way of life, a culture, and a way to let loose and enjoy your time. The music in this show is lively, fun, and played by very handsome, and talented musicians. At times short film clips played, and at other times it was one sensational jazz number after another. Peter & Will Anderson are two brothers who played the saxophone, clarinet, and flute, and actually could switch instruments at a moment’s notice during the songs, as if it were the simplest thing in the world; it was incredible.

The guitarist, Alex Wintz, had a way with his hands and the music. At times it was if he had twenty fingers. The drummer, Luc Decker, was great at keeping the drums alive during the songs, but also could tone down the room with his soft rhythm in minutes.

For those of you who like jazz, are new to jazz, or simply want to see some great, young talent then you must see Le Hot Jazz, How The French Saved Jazz! Continuing until December 29th, 2013.

59 E 59 Theaters is located at 59 E. 59th Street.
