Equal parts edgy and classic, thanks in part to the styling, Katie Gallagher‘s 13th New York Fashion Week collection was both bold and intriguing. Entitled “Chinatown,” Gallagher’s collection obviously draws inspiration from the New York City neighborhood of the same name. Both living and working in the area, Gallagher decided to pay homage via her clothing for the Spring/Summer 2016 season. The neighborhood, which is often characterized by its bright colors, bold shapes and strong scents, can be seen within the collection, with pops of color amidst the neutrals.
The collection features a variety of fabrics, from stone-washed silks to English and cotton tulle and nylon spandex to cotton voile. While some of her clothing seems simplistic, it’s her attention to detail that sets this collection apart. A big props to her team for elevating her collection with the styling, accessories, hair and make-up that added to the show. Check out some of our favorite looks from the show below!
