Pinnacle Vodka Taste Off

With vodka being the most popular spirit in the country, there are countless numbers of different brands, plus a variety of different flavors. Vodka can be mixed with just about anything and varies in prices. Pinnacle Vodka decided to put their product to the test with a taste off.

Manhattan with a Twist was invited to the charming Millesime Restaurant for the Pinnacle Vodka taste off. The evening started off with a very informative lesson about the origins of vodka, the different types, and other interesting facts. We were then given a sample tasting of two different vodkas in separate glasses but not told which one was which. Next we were instructed to taste each glass marking down our critiques on the guide they had given us. Smell, taste, burn, like-ability were a few of the criteria we were judging on. I was pretty sure they weren’t going to tell us the results, but I was presently surprised when they informed us that we would hear them later that evening. As the staff tallied the scores, Millesime Restaurant had plates of delectable cheeses and cured meats with bread as starters. We were then served an assortment of tasty sliders, including beef, shrimp and mushroom with sautéed eggplant and squash as side dishes.

Soon the results were in! It turns out the second vodka sample we had was Grey Goose. Pinnacle Vodka and the premium sample scored very similar marks across the board. When it came to taste, like-ability, and odor, sometimes Pinnacle came out on top and other times the premium vodka came out on top. The lesson I got out of this awesome experiment is why pay three times more for a premium when I can get a great tasting vodka for less? Pinnacle Vodka is offered in a variety of flavors at your liquor and grocery store. Check out pinnaclevodka.com for ideas on amazing recipes.
