Around every corner in Manhattan you can find a slice of pizza, and most of the times, it’s pretty darn good. But what’s a New Yorker to do when the 99 cent stuff just won’t cut it? The answer lies at Pizzetteria Brunetti. The father son-owned pizza place, located in the West Village, set up shop in the city after high demand from their Westhampton Beach location forced them to expand. The intimate pizza spot isn’t typical of a pizza joint…it’s charm is apparent from the get-go, with its community bar, rustic wood banquettes and outdoor garden. And with twenty different varieties of pizza to choose from, things get anything but boring here.

Serving up Neopolitan style ‘za straight from their custom-built oven and beers and wines straight from the taps, everything you consume at this restaurant is fresh, fresh, fresh. Right now, the restaurant is serving up their seasonal Taste of Spring pizza, made with burrata cream, peas, lamb sausage and mint. The unique combo truly embodies the season, making for a refreshing, delicious lunch or dinner. If you want something a little heartier, their Funghi e Cipolla pizza is to die for. It’s made with caramelized onions, shiitake mushroom, honey-truffle oil and goat cheese; a real winner. Of course, they also serve traditional Marinara and Margherita pizzas, along with other specialties.

Pizzetteria Brunetti isn’t a one trick pony though, they also serve up an array of small plates and dishes, such as eggplant parm, meatball sliders, potato croquettes, and naturally, a selection of salads. As we mentioned, the downtown hot spot has an impressive selection of both wines and beers, from domestic small-batch brews and Italian craft beers to Italian wines available by the glass or carafe. Pairing your pizza with wine makes for a pleasing combo, and we couldn’t have been more impressed by their flavorful whites. Round out your meal with one of their Italian desserts and you’ll be leaving happy. Spring into the new season with pizza, wine and a divine time!
