Alcohol, it’s the one thing that brings everybody together. And one spirit we can’t seem to get enough of is rum. Last week, Rhum Clément, one of the world’s leading producers of AOC Martinique Rhum Agricole, celebrated its 125th anniversary with a special party featuring their commemorative bottle. The rum is crafted from fresh pressed sugarcane juice and their V.S.O.P. has been aged a minimum of four years in virgin Limousin barriques and re-charred bourbon casks.

The limited edition V.S.O.P. has only produced 10,000 bottles, and in honor of their impressive anniversary, Paris-based artist JonOne was commissioned to create a unique and artistic bottle. The artist stated, “I wanted the bottle to be a celebration of street art. I saw that Caribbean people were also sensitive to my work. I have done exhibitions in China, Russia, and the USA…at last I have been able to find a bit of a home.” JonOne is a world renowned street artist and a Harlem native.

Last week’s party celebrated the special collaboration, which was attended by JonOne, as well as the managing director of Clément USA, Benjamin Jones. The event was held at the exclusive Norwood Club, where specialty cocktails were served, along with delectable passed hors d’oeuvres. There was artwork by the artist on display, as well as a live art performance.

Join in on the celebration with this tasty cocktail:

Clément ‘Rhum Punch’
2 parts Rhum Vieux Clément
1 part sugarcane syrup Clément
1 part fresh lime juice
1 part mineral water
few drops angostura bitters
ice cubes
