Snacking on the Go Just Got a Healthy Upgrade

by

One of the biggest challenges I face as a busy, on-the-go New Yorker is eating healthy. I don’t always have time to cook and I don’t always have time to sit down for a full meal, especially when I’m running out the door to a meeting or a workout class. And I know I’m not alone.

In fact, chef David Choi Jr. was experiencing similar problem back when he was in a college and began making vegetable-based bars to snack on between classes as a vegan solution. Years later, he has now partnered with Gloria Athanis and Jeff Adeszko to bring Phyter Bars to the masses.

Phyter Bars are the first food bars made with fresh fruits and vegetables starring as the main ingredients. Unlike typical food bars, which can last years in your cupboard, Phyter Bars are made with clean, fresh ingredients and must be stored in the fridge. The bars are not only vegan, but also organic, gluten-free, GMO-free and kosher, making them a top choice for any and everyone, no matter what your dietary restrictions. They are also preservative free!

Now we know a lot of healthy foods out there talk the talk, but do they walk the walk? A.k.a. do they taste good? The answer is a resounding yes! Right now they come in five different flavors and we’re happy to report we liked them all. Choose from Sweet Potato + Coconut, Beet + Cocoa, Butternut Squash + Peanut Butter, Berries + Peanut Butter and Kale + Apple. (Our favorites were the Kale + Apple and Sweet Potato + Coconut).

Each bar clocks in at 200 calories and the ingredient list is so refreshing — you’ll recognize and be able to pronounce all of them. Promoting all natural and healthy ingredients, with decent sources of fiber, protein and carbohydrates, and a low amount of fat, these bars have become a new staple on my way out the door.

We love companies that are transparent about their ingredients and with Phyter Bars, we can feel good about how we’re fueling our bodies. You can now purchase Phyter Bars online or in NYC at numerous locations. Head to the website to see where you can purchase.
