The Perfect Father’s Day Cocktails

Dads can be the trickiest people to shop for, so instead of scouring the mall for a gift that’s just so-so, why not concoct your dad a freshly made cocktail instead? Pick from the best of the best below, using dad’s liquor of choice and make this Father’s Day one to remember.

Pouring Ribbons

1 ½ oz. Ruffino Prosecco
¼ oz. Campari
½ oz. St. Germain Elderflower liqueur
1 ½ oz. grapefruit juice

Pour a small amount of Ruffino Prosecco over ice in a Collins glass. Add remaining ingredients. Top off with more Ruffino Prosecco as needed. Garnish with a grapefruit twist.

Bourbon Daddy

2 parts Basil Hayden’s Bourbon
1 part fresh lemon juice
½ part agave syrup
1 egg white
3 sage leaves
4 pink peppercorns

Add all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and muddle the sage leaves and pink peppercorns. Add ice and shake. Double strain into an old fashioned glass filled with ice and garnish with a sage leaf.

Secret Dram

2 Parts Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey
¾ Part Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
1 Part Honey Syrup (½ honey ½ water)
2 Dashes Orange Bitters
1 Part Egg White

Pour all ingredients into a shaker and shake to mix well and emulsify. Add ice and shake hard for another 15 seconds. Pour into a large tumbler over ice. This is a ³man¹s drink,² so no garnish is needed.

Frutti Red

1 ½ oz. vodka
1 slice of ginger
¼ lime
2 tsps fresh berries
1 splash of Malbec wine
1 shot of your favorite whisky

Muddle & shake.

2 oz. Brugal 1888
¼ oz. Bittermans Apricot Brandy
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
1 dash Regan’s Orange Bitters

Stir all ingredients in a cocktail tin until chilled. Strain into a rocks glass over large ice cubes. Garnish with a dried apricot and lemon peel.

Dad’s Dry Daiquiri (Courtesy of Brugal Rum)
2 oz. Brugal Extra Dry
1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
¾ oz. Simple Syrup

Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.

NOLET’S Silver Clover Club (Courtesy of Ivan Mitankin, Bathtub Gin)
2 oz. NOLET’S Silver Dry Gin
3 Raspberries
1 Egg White
½ oz. Cane Syrup
½ oz. Dolin Dry
¾ oz. Lemon

Dry shake all ingredients (without ice) to emulsify the egg white, then shake with ice. Double strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a raspberry.

Green&Ginger

2 oz. Johnnie Walker Green Label
3 oz. Spicy Ginger Beer
Candied Rosemary Sprig*

Place Green Label Scotch Whiskey into a double round rocks glass filled with liberal ice. Top with 3 oz. of Ginger Beer of your choice (the spicier the better!) and stir. Garnish with a candied Rosemary sprig. *To make the Candied Rosemary: Dip rosemary sprigs in boiling water. Generously sprinkle with superfine sugar. Let dry on a parchment lined baking sheet for 1 hour.

Dewars_Ginger

1 part DEWAR’S WHITE LABEL Blended Scotch Whisky
3 parts ginger beer or ale
Orange wedge

Fill pint glass with ice and add Dewar’s White Label. Top with ginger and garnish with an orange wedge.
