Lounging and strolling through Central Park is a spring and summertime favorite pastime, but oftentimes you don’t want to settle down with a street dog. Keep your refreshing day going strong with a tasty reprieve inside Villagio on the Park. The spacious restaurant overlooks the park, with full-length window doors that open out onto the sidewalk, giving diners fresh air and a fresh view. The modern locale will light up your days with their hundreds of illuminated crystal balls hanging from the ceiling, giving the restaurant a high class look and feel.

The Italian cuisine is as equally classy as the decor. Executive chef Paul Johnston dishes out fresh, hand-made pastas and imports fresh seasonal ingredients from various European countries. The extensive menu features everything from calamari and risotto to pizza and and fish and none of them will be a disappointment. While dining there, we had a sampling of some of their dishes and I’ve got to give a shout out to the Gondoletta homemade pasta, which was filled with four cheeses and spinach and covered in a light truffle cream sauce. It’s dangerously delicious.

That’s not to say that everything else we had wasn’t tasty! We also enjoyed the Risotto Fruitti Di Mare, which was a carnaroli rice in saffron sauce with salmon, which was yummy and healthy. We also tried a yellow beet appetizer, which was surprisingly good, especially since I’m not a fan of beets! Of course, we finished the evening with dessert — two, if we’re being honest — Amaretto Cake and Poached Plums, both of which were devoured with fervor.
