An evening of glamor, tricks, and cocktails awaits those who head to see one of New York City’s longest running shows, Chamber Magic. Located within the extravagant Lotte New York Palace Hotel, this one-of-a-kind magic show is reminiscent of a different era, taking place in an intimate salon with guests dressed up in cocktail attire. Limited to only 60 guests, everyone has a prime view of each trick and slight of hand.

Magician Steve Cohen is the pioneer of this jaw-dropping show and has performed over 5,000 shows. Chamber Magic is listed as the #1 thing to do in New York City on TripAdvisor, and for good reason.  Starting off with card tricks and moving on to more intricate magic, Cohen’s love for the craft is apparent, and his humor and skill seamlessly come together to give viewers an outstanding show. The show is completely interactive, allowing practically the entire audience to participate in some way, shape or form. My favorite part of the entire evening was when Cohen performed his signature Think-A-Drink trick. I don’t want to give anything away, but it has baffled my mind for weeks since I saw it. The tricks he performed throughout the course of the night really were honestly out of this world. I definitely plan on going back and bringing my entire family. It is like an evening of live Clue, except instead of trying to solve a murder, you’re trying to solve how he’s pulling off all of those tricks!

As a fun bonus, Cohen’s new graphic novel, The Millionaires’ Magician ($24.99), make a great accompaniment for a gift to the show this season. The novel has behind it a team of greats, including story by Keith Champagne (Stranger Things, Justice League), artwork by Peter Krause (Daredevil, Superman), color by Jordie Bellaire (Deadpool, Batman) and cover artist Tara Phillips. Additionally, David Copperfield writes the foreward.

Cohen is known as the Millionaires’ Magician and has performed for the Queen of Morocco, Prince of Saudi Arabia, Guillermo del Toro, Warren Buffet, Martha Stewart and countless others. The show runs five times a weekend, giving you ample time to get out and see it! If you’re looking for a special date night, unique holiday gift, or just a fun night out on the town, this show is worth every penny.
