Just steps from Grand Central, an upscale, subterranean restaurant exudes class and hospitality in a setting very much in touch with its old New York roots. Offering daily, weekly, and seasonal specials, Davio’s is constantly evolving to bring both value and joy to its clientele.
I got to witness the thoughtfulness and the care that goes into each decision firsthand when I attended their Spritz Up Your Monday event last week.
Both Aperol and Limoncello Spritz’s are available on Monday nights for $7, along with a selection of other house wines, beers, and complimentary appetizers. The fried calamari is salty and spicy, with a delightful aioli that pairs well with prosecco. The cracker-thin Margarita Pizza is light but satisfying, and doesn’t make you feel like you’re “eating pizza” on a Monday night.
The area near the kitchen is cozy and intimate, and makes for a great place to catch up with friends.
