Get Infected with The Strain

by

CDC Flash Mob 1

Vampires. Infections. Unsolved mysteries. These are thing that can be expected in the hit FX series The Strain. The show, which recently wrapped up a successful first season, will be coming out on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD on December 2nd. In honor of the impending dvd release, the cast, along with event producer Rubik Marketing celebrated the eery lunar eclipse last week at a spooky themed party last week in New York City.

The lunar eclipse party, which was held at The Delancey, welcomed the show’s stars, including Mia Maestro, Natalie Brown, Jim Watson, Robert Maillet and Robin Atkin Downes. This was not your ordinary party…attendees had the opportunity to ‘get turned’ into infected vampires for the evening, courtesy of professional make-up artists who did a spectacular job at zombifying the guests. While the newborn vampires enjoyed snapping photos in the CDC biohazard zone photo booth, they sucked down toxic libations and cures liek Eph’s Antedote and The Lunar Fizz, which were made with Reyka Vodka and Montelobos Mezcal. Other tidbits were being passed around the party, all of which looked quite frightening but were actually delightful to munch on. The brave tried The Infected Brain (assorted sweet breads), Lab Samples (tea quail eggs with Himalayan and truffle sea salts), Rodent Tartar with Blood Born Sriracha (urchin on toast with house made sriracha), and Worm Shooters in the Master’s Strain Reduction (udon noodle shooter in green broth).

The night didn’t stop there — guests enjoyed an exclusive musical performance by Mia Maestro, who serenaded the audience with tracks from her debut album, as well as a CDC flash mob, who frantically searched the crowd in hazmat suits for signs of ‘The Strain.’
