Italian at Its Best: Mozzarella & Vino

Some of the best Italian cuisine in New York City lies outside Little Italy and incidentally resides right across from the MoMA! Newly opened Mozzarella & Vino serves up some of the freshest Prosciutto, Bresaola, Parmesan, and of course, Mozzarella Cheese.

The atmosphere is modern, simply beautiful, and inviting. The manager, Amy, is very knowledgeable about all of the wines on the list and can match a wine to your palate preference easily. The food is fresh and many ingredients are sourced from Italy, which adds that special touch that you look for in a restaurant. The Arancini appetizer is the perfect starter and is crispy, creamy, and absolutely delightful. Pair this with the divine Falanghina and you’re good to go!

A few must orders are in store when you visit Mozzarella & Vino, however, and they include the Prosciutto & Parmesan Platters with Raspberries, and spreads. The Fried Zucchini is perfect, salted, and drizzled with just the right amount of lemon. The Tortellini Soup is simple, addicting, and delicious, with a sprinkle of fresh black pepper and Parmesan cheese.

If you still have some room, the Beef Stew and Meatballs should be your next stop on the menu. The meatballs are juicy and the stew is comforting on these cold winter nights, while served over creamy polenta. Pair these two with the Brunello on the menu and you will have yourself a pleasant pairing.
