Mortdecai and The Art of Shaving



Handsome Doesn’t Just Happen. That is the intriguing tagline for the new feature film Mortdecai. The Art of Shaving is a leading luxury men’s grooming brand that partnered up with Lionsgate to work on the this quirky film that brings together actors like Johnny Depp, Gwyneth Paltrow, Olivia Munn, and Ewan McGregor in this David Koepp directed movie.

The Art of Shaving was originally founded in 1996 by the husband and wife duo Eric Malka and Myriam Zaoui. It has grown to be a prestigious and luxurious brand that is sold at fine retailers and online stores such as Neiman Marcus, Barneys New York, and Saks Fifth Avenue, among others. The first store that was opened in Manhattan has grown to have more than 80 locations across the country and a lot of these stores have Barber Spas: a luxurious spa that combines traditional barber services with oil facial treatments. They boast an extremely vast amount of shaving products dedicated to the men’s grooming.

One man who has grown to become an expert of grooming and appreciating the art of grooming is the titular character Mortdecai, who is played by Johnny Depp. Mortdecai is an art dealer who travels around the world to recover a stolen painting that is worth more than anyone can imagine. He juggles the Mi5, his wife Johanna, played by Gwyneth Paltrow, an international terrorist and her lover, all while still keeping his mustache groomed to perfection. How exactly does Mortdecai do it? It’s simple — through The Art of Shaving!
