You Too Can Be Legen – Wait for It –

by

-Dary!

Comedian, magician, actor, father, compulsive award show hostNeil Patrick Harris seems to do it all. And now you can, too (kinda… okay, not really) with the Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography!

In this autobiography, you are Neil Patrick Harris. Your story begins in 1973 Albuquerque, New Mexico, where you meet your parents for the very first time. From there you are given your first story-choice: a happy childhood with your supportive parents and idolized older brother or a miserable one with a rather unfortunate end for your beloved grandparent. Throughout your story you will make many decisions from your first movie at age thirteen, to discovering and accepting your sexuality, to your two iconic roles as a teenage medical genius and a womanizing “Bro,” to meeting and falling in love with David Burka and then your beautiful twins, to hosting about any award show within reach. All of these and more – real or hypothetical – enriches your life in many ways.

NPH’s autobiography is one-of-a-kind. Its “choose your own adventure” style is purely original: how is it possible to give readers the ability to choose the actions of your life when it’s already happened? NPH finds a way that not only makes it possible, but hilariously fun.

I particularly liked the chapters about his time on How I Met Your Mother: as a fan of the show, it’s great to hear that its stars loved every minute, as well. Also a highlight was the insight into his personal family life, which is sickeningly sweet, and the behind-the-scenes planning that goes into every award show. The experience of reading NPH’s autobiography was enjoyable the whole way through and one that I highly recommend to everyone with a sense of humor!

So “suit up” and grab a copy of Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography!
