Aw, Shucks: It’s National Oyster Day!

Today is National Oyster Day! It’s time to embrace this Monday and celebrate these delicious bi-valves on their special day! All over — restaurants, home cooks, and seafood bars — are partaking in this fun foodie holiday, and you should, too.

David Burke restaurants are definitely taking this day and turning it into a great deal. At David Burke Townhouse, customers will be impressed with the 5 for $20 Oyster Thailanaises, which includes Wellfleet Oysters, Curried Tapioca, Crispy Shallots, and Mango Slaw.

Right around the block is David Burke Fishtail on 62nd street. They’re heating things up with Oysters Up In Smoke accompanied by Apple Pearls and Chardonnay Foam! Grab this deal at 5 for $15!

Both Little Town locations are serving up some special menu’s made by Food Network featured Chef Jardon Andino. You can enjoy his Cape May Oyster Po Boy or Cape May Fried Oysters. Other popular menu items that will be perfect for this fun n’ festive Monday are the Little Town Cape May Oyster Shooters, as well at the Classic Shooters; yum!

Distilled, in Tribeca on West Broadway, is serving up seasonal combinations at $18 for a half dozen and $35 for a dozen and paired with Tomatillo Gazpacho and Shallot Pearl Dressing.

The Sea Fire Grill is serving up a great All Day Oyster Happy Hour! With East and West Coast Oysters, they will be offering these briny mollusks at $1.50 each. Be sure to check them out for a great lunch or happy hour on East 48th Street.

If your in the mood for something a little more festive with a pop of incredible flavor, check out the Red Rooster in Harlem and try their Oysters Rockefeller for $14 or their Fried Oysters over Creamed Spinach and topped with Bacon Hollandaise Sauce with Crumbled Bacon and Chives.

Whereever you choose to go is up to you, as long as you are celebrating this day the right way! With so many great deals going on in the city, you can take that “case of the Monday’s” feeling and throw it right out because nothing beats fresh, salty oysters with a cool cocktail or international beer!
