A.B. Biagi Gelato & Coffee is an adorable little shop on Elizabeth Street in Soho. The sun yellow front of the store invites you right into a warm environment full of weekly changing flavors of gelato and sorbet. Antonio, the owner, was raised in an Italian family, but resided in Brazil. He loved gelato and everything it entailed and went on to study this creamy frozen art all over Italy. He kept his passion alive while practicing what he had learned at home with his own gelato maker. Antonio adapted his gelato recipes to Brazil’s tropical weather using local fruits and lower fat milk to create a lighter frozen dessert that could withstand the heat.

Ab Biagi

One day he found the perfect location in Soho and A.B. Biagi was born! With gelato flavors like chocolate, strawberry, pistachio, and hazelnut, and sorbet selections of banana and lemon how could you not fall in love? Antonio is there every day from open to close so if you have time to pop in you will most likely be able to meet him — you will be greeted with a warm smile and his positive charming demeanor.

Coffee

Every gelato is hand made each morning in the shop and is absolutely delicious, creamy, and tastes like you’re having it in Italy. The coffee selection is very nice with options like espresso, slow, drips, iced coffee, etc. All the coffee is ground to perfection and is also for sale by the pound.

Stop by this great little get away for an afternoon treat. If you can’t get enough, you can buy a pint of his delicious home made sweet treat!
