From Italy with Love: The Extraordinary Italian Style

by

Italy is known for its delicious cuisine and breathtaking landscape. Italy is also known for its innovative fashion designers. Held at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City, Project New York held its annual curated, contemporary menswear trade show. Partnering with the Italian Trade Commision, they created the Made in Italy Lounge to showcase and promote Italian fashion excellence here in the United States.

Inside the “Made in Italy” lounge, trade show attendees discovered over 50 curated Italian designers brands, ranging from knitwear to outerwear, accessories, and more. The highly anticipated trade show took place from January 19th through the 21st and featured over 500 exhibitors and saw nearly 200,000 attendees. Boasting immaculate construction and luxurious fabrics, Italian outerwear brands included Antonio Barbuto and Mandelli. Dickson and Cordone 1956 were a couple of the Italian shirt designers showcasing their chic looks, and Italian footwear brands Franceschetti and Ortigni 1930 were a big hit at the trade show.

To help trade show visitors celebrate #ExtraordinaryItalianStyle, the Italian Trade Commission and Project New York also hosted a “From Italy With Love” cocktail party for press and VIP guests at Dear Irving On Hudson, one of the highest Manhattan open-air rooftop bars, which is located at Aliz Hotel. VIP guests included the Italian Trade Agency’s (ITA) head of fashion and beauty, Paola Guida and Project New York’s president Lizette Chin. Guests were greeted with passed hors d’oeuvres, glasses of prosecco and classic Italian cocktails like the Aperol Spritz. Project New York is held twice a year, so not to worry if you missed this one. Check out their website to stay updated on their summer show.
