Mojito Madness

Tomorrow, July 11th, is National Mojito Day! Mojitos are a very popular cocktail typically made with rum, mint, sugar, lime juice and sparkling water, but there are many variations on the cocktail. In celebration of this delicious drink, we’ve got some great mojito recipes for you, as well as places in New York City you can go to imbibe them. Bottoms up!

The Living Rooms at both W Times Square and W New York are offering a refreshing Strawberry Mojito for $16. The W Downtown is also offering a Champagne Mojito for the occasion. Make sure to head to one of the locations with some friends, or make it yourself!

Strawberry Mojito

Strawberry Mojito
2 Medium Strawberries
3 Lime Wedges
1 tsp. Sugar
5 Mint Leaves
2 oz. Bacardi Limon
Splash Of Soda Water
Splash Of Mbc Sour Mix

Muddle strawberries, lime, sugar and mint leaves in Rocks Glass. Add ice and Bacardi, soda water and sour mix. Garnish with a strawberry on the rim.

Asian restaurant Hakkasan is serving up an Asian-inspired mojito in honor of the holiday. Try their Pink Mojito for $15, available in the Ling Ling Lounge and the main dining room. Can’t make it out? Make one yourself!

Pink Mojito

Pink Mojito
2 oz. Cabeza tequila
½ oz. brown simple syrup
20 mint leaves
½ lime
(Muddle)
Mix on crushed ice. Top with organic cranberry juice.

Jimmy at The James bartender Johnny Swet created quite the concoction for National Mojito Day. Head to the bar or whip up your own!

Grilled Pineapple Mojito

Grilled Pineapple Mojito
2 oz. Caliche Rum
5 oz. Lime Juice
¾ oz. Agave Nectar
2 oz. Pineapple Juice
Grilled Pineapple
Mint sprig

Bagatelle NY‘s mixologist Brice Mastroluca is serving customers the Mojito Royale, which subs cognac for rum.

Topped with Moët.

Additionally, we have a great spiced mojito recipe from Sailor Jerry Rum that will really get the party started!

Spiced Mojito

Sailor Jerry Spiced Mojito
3 Parts Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
2 Parts fresh lime juice
2 Parts Simple Syrup
10 loose mint leaves
4 parts soda water

Combine ingredients (except soda) in a mixing glass and shake well. Pour directly into highball glass, top with ice and soda. Garnish with generous fresh mint sprig and Lime.
