Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!
That’s exactly what you can expect aboard Hornblower Cruises for their special boozy musical event, The Imbible: Rum Drinks…And Pirates! After one of our writers had rave reviews about The Imbible: A Spirited History of Drinking, I was quite curious to check it out for myself. Luckily, the opportunity arose with this themed spin-off of sorts aboard Hornblower Cruises.
The Imbible, which was created by world-renowned mixologist Anthony Caporale, now has a pirate-themed sister show, exclusively on Hornblower’s Alive After Five Cruises. The two-hour evening cruise takes your around the Hudson River, showcasing amazing views of the city, Jersey and of course, Lady Liberty. The cruise departs at 6pm and the show doesn’t being until 7:15pm, giving you plenty of time to wander around, take in the views, and snap a few pictures. The thirty minute show comes with three complimentary pirate rum drinks and tells the history and science of rum — from the its beginning, up until now. Both informative and amusing, the show’s four singers/dancers/educators belt it out in perfect harmony, giving its audience a goofy, fun-loving evening of laughs and drinks. And if you’re a fan of pirates, there’s no way you won’t enjoy it.
Plus, a light buffet comprised of cheese and crackers, fruit and popcorn will keep you satiated while aboard the ship. However, the show is only showing for a limited time, until the end of October, so get your tickets asap before your chance jumps ship!
