Get Out on the Water This Summer

Summer in the city can be tough with not many spots to enjoy the great outdoors. Sure, you can head to a friend’s rooftop, an outdoor bar, or even Central Park, but space is limited and sometimes you just want to see more of the sights. New Yorkers tend to forget that the Hudson River plays host to many a boat ride, and with plenty of options to choose from and affordable pricing, it’s a no brainer to spend some days this summer on the water.

Entertainment Cruises New York launch off of Chelsea Piers with five different vessels to entertain guests.  Their Spirit Cruises feature fun evenings of dining, dancing, and of course, spectacular views along with an interactive DJ. The Spirit of New York has interactive dance floors and three interior dining decks, as well as cuisine from celebrity chef Eric LeVine. The Bateaux offers a more elegant atmosphere to guests with brunch, lunch, dinner, cocktail and moonlight cruises every day of the week. Live entertainment will play jazz, blues and Broadway hits during cruise time. Entertainment Cruises also offers high end yachts Atlantic and Manhattan Elite, which allows groups private and customizable cruises.

Hornblower Cruises also offer a variety of cruises aboard their hybrid yachts. They specialize in their Manhattan Dinner Cruise, which is three hours long and includes hors d’oeuvres, a three course a la carte menu and dessert buffet, plus a DJ and dancing. Other notable cruises they host include their Sunday Brunch Jazz Cruise, Sights & Sips, Alive After Five, and Rock the Yacht.

Switching gears, Manhattan by Sail offers an alternative to your typical yacht outings. Aboard one of their two gorgeous sailboats, Clipper City or Shearwater, guests will enjoy a peaceful sail around the harbor, taking in views of the New York skyline and Statue of Liberty. With innumerable choices of cruises to choose from, anyone from your dear old grandma to your crazy best friend will find something to enjoy aboard the ship. Manhattan by Sail boasts many regular sails such as their Twilight Sail, Jazz Sail, and Daytime Statue Sail, but also spices things up with their Burlesque Sail, Lobster and Beer Lovers Sail, Whiskey Tasting Sail and even their Full Moon Sail. The views on the ship are amazing and the drinks and food will keep you satisfied. We can’t wait to get back on board for another fun outing!
