The Perfect Summer Retreat

Tucked away in Little Italy, The Mulberry Project is no stranger to hosting pop-ups. Back in January, the restaurant and cocktail bar opened Project 1919, a speakeasy-style secret room in the back of the bar that served specialty cocktails. Last week, the unveiled the newly revamped space, which will be called La Isla Escondida. The new pop-up, which will last all summer long, is a charming outdoor garden that aims to bring island life to the city.

The 900 square foot garden space is decorated with dangling paper lanterns, plenty of vegetation, astro turf, strung lights and of course, a bar. The garden will feature regular film screenings, Sunday pig roasts, light bites from their Latin menu and spiked ice cocktails from their slushy machine. Mixologists Sam Ziar and Jasper Soffer created a cocktail menu that is fruity, flavorful, and plenty boozy, each one paying homage to a different Latin American country.

La Isla Escondida is the perfect secret spot to head to this summer to enjoy some sun, fun and island flavor!

La Isla Escondida is located at 149 Mulberry Street.
